Winter weather

I love weather.  We don't have weather in San Diego.  Not even out here in the foothills outside San Diego.  If you drive another 45 minutes or so, into the Cuyamaca and Laguna mountains they sometimes have weather, but nothing like most of the United States.  The weather is uniformly pleasant nearly all the time (and therefore, for me and many of my friends, very boring!)

So, when we hear a "cold" front is dropping down from the North and will bring rain and temperatures 20 degrees lower than normal (which means it will be in the chilly high 60's!)  I get excited.

Before I fell asleep last night I thought that the changing weather might be reflected in our morning sky and I was right.

The best storms come from this direction.

Where'd ya go, Darby?  I wanna play!

I'm looking forward to our "wintery weather," as a local weather man actually described it last night!

Don't laugh at us  Californians; we can't help it.

Hi! Were you referring to the sky or those cuties dogs when you said the best storms come from this direction!? If you meant the dogs I luv the play on words! That would fit my boys! We have a lot of stormy weather at our house!
We are looking forward to the cooler weather too. Snakes go to sleep, coyotes stay a little higher and The dynamic duo don't/doesn't get so hot when we walk!
Have a happy Monday!

Beautiful clouds.

At least you don't need a few different wardrobes of clothes!

beautiful skies! we do have weather: cold weather when we miss the warm one, and warm weather that we (I?) would love to last forever! we are told that our gorgeous indian summer will come to an end on Friday, when a polar front will make temps drop by at least 15C.

Becky, funny that you would make the connection between the dogs and my "best storms" comment. I was trying to come up with a way to tie in their habit of playfully (and sometimes not-so playfully) fighting, but I wasn't clever enough. Daily and Co., I often tell Glenn that I want to live somewhere where I need a coat. Francesca, I don't know your area of Italy, but Gaeta, where I lived in 1972-1973 is VERY much like Southern California. Slightly more extreme maybe -- hotter in the summer and slightly colder in the winter. I love a change of seasons and think that is what I "miss" even after having spent 55 of my 58 years here in the San Diego area. Bug, Daddy and I are looking forward to spending time with you this Christmas season, too!
