Where the heck I've been

Well, I had the best intentions of keeping up with this here blog after having taken a bit of a break, but so much for those intentions!

Since the last time I checked in here we've had some fun times.

A plane ride almost always means fun times.

This time it meant a trip all the way across the U.S. -- diagonally! -- to Portland, Maine to visit Darby's mother, Bryn, and her family.

Other people's vacation photos can often be somewhat boring -- especially if the person spends five minutes on each photo relating fond memories of people you don't know!

So, I'll spare you the narration and just share the photos!

Olson House, Cushing Maine

Owl's Head

Portland Head Light

Penobscot Narrows Bridge and the other Fort Knox
Shaker Village at Sabbath Day Lake

We had a lovely time with Mike and Wendy (and Bryn and Dinah, of course!)  They were wonderful hosts -- thinking of everything for our comfort.  It was hard to say goodbye, but we have their visit to San Diego this coming February to look forward to!

P.S.  If you don't know the story of how we met Wendy and Mike, check in out here.  We're still amazed!

I love seeing vacation pictures. Often times, it's somewhere I will never make it to in my lifetime, so pictures must suffice!
