In case you missed the comment from the person who re-homed Darby's Uncle Spencer, I'm posting it here.
I've never had reason to have to give up a pet, but there are many, many reasons why that sometimes has to happen. And, I'm sure it is, as Cassie says below, a heart-wrenching decision.
Hello! I happen to be the "woman from NC" who made the heart-wrenching decision to rehome Spencer. I am very glad that we made the trip to Maine so we could meet Michelle & her family, & see for ourselves the love they have for Spencer. They are a wonderful family. He is an amazing dog & we miss him tremendously. We were also pleased to meet Mike & his wife. Another twist: I'm also originally from San Diego. This truly has been an amazing story!
Cassie
Among the many reasons for working with a reputable breeder is the fact that he or she will help you re-home your dog if the need should ever arise--as Kim Shira of Coedwig's helped Cassie.
How about that added twist to the Bryn/Darby/Spencer story--Cassie is originally from San Diego!
So, Cassie. If Spencer's human, Michelle, isn't inclined to start a blog for him, maybe she'll send me photos now and then so I can post them here on his niece's blog, so you can check up on him -- if it doesn't make you miss him too much!
P.S. Pumpkin and Darby are cousins--but I always get tangled up in how exactly. But maybe that means Spencer is Pumpkin's uncle, too. I'll have to figure that out--although I'll bet Leda will have the answer on the tip of her tongue!!

Hi,
Pumpkin and Darby are related through their respective mom and dad. Darby's dad is Rocco and Pumpkin's mom is Vickie. Vickie and Rocco have the same mother--Jolee (Darby's and Pumpkin's grandmother in common). Rocco is Pumpkin's uncle (in human terms) and Spencer would be Darby's uncle. So any relationship with Pumpkin would be through "marriage", not blood. But if you look at all of their pedigrees, you will find dogs in common, especially Carbon.

I KNEW you would have it on the tip of your tongue. Thank you, Leda!
I am so happy that this story has a happy ending. It always makes my heart sing to know how tight the "Cardi community" is to help each other in times like this. Good luck to Spencer in his new home!!!
