Submissiveness

I've read a bit about submissiveness in dogs--before Darby came to live with us--and especially after because she seems to be on the submissive side.

Wouldn't you say?
Darby couldn't get her head any lower than Dinah's if she tried, and you can see that Darby is ready to roll over onto her back in the ultimate (as I understand it, anyway) submissive pose if Dinah does anything to make her think she should do so!

Here she is again...making sure her head is lower than Dinah's while Dinah sniffs and figures out who this Bryn-like, but-not-Bryn creature is:

You can read more about submissiveness in various posts at The Other End of the Leash here.   I especially like this article about what Patricia McConnell calls "obsequious submissiveness."

interesting about submission; I'm thinking Koda would not be the submissivee but the one that is the submisser (dominant)
