Pigs ears

Can you spot the pig's ears?

Ha!  Fooled you!  You were looking for one of those nasty dried pig ears that dogs love so much, weren't you? Well, the only pig's ears in the photos are the Varkoor -- or calla lilies.  "Varkoor" is an Afrikaans word meaning "pig's ear." You can read about them here.   If you haven't tried growing them yourself, give it a try.  They are amazingly easy -- at least that's the case in South Africa and here in south California!

Those are beautiful; but when it comes to chewing, we like the REAL pig's ears!

Hey Darby!
Wow, cute post. My Mom wants the lilies, but I'll take the chewable version!
