Under the weather

So, I'm a little under the weather.  I have a bug (flu?) that's left me with a bone rattling, sleep interrupting cough.

I stayed home yesterday and today and am concerned that my boss and co-workers think I really stayed home because I have a new puppy and because it is raining--two things that I love!

The girls seem to be getting along well--lots of play fighting, but no real fighting.  Not even over food.  I feed them in separate areas, but prepare their bowls in the same place.  If I had done that with Bonnie and Darby, they would have been fighting over the anticipation of the food.

There have been some small, fun skirmishes over marrow bones--each girl wanting the one the other has.  But, again, nothing serious.  Just gentle growling.

Here are some photos I've taken over the last two days.  But, shhhh!  Don't tell anyone at my work that I have not been lying prostrate on my bed all day and all night these last two days.   (o:

If you look closely at the photos, you'll see that in a few of them Pumpkin-Shitski has a mouthful of Darby's cheek or neck.  And, there is one photo showing Darby playfully chomping on Pumpkin's elbow.  It is interesting to me that this is exactly how Darby and Bonnie played--Bonnie went for Darby's face and neck and Darby dove under for Bonnie's front legs.  I wonder is that says something about their relative dominance (a word that often has bad connotations when talking about dogs) toward each other.

Sweet, huh?  But only for a second!

It doesn't rain very often in the San Diego area, but when it does, I'm glad we have carpeting upstairs so the dogs can more easily left off steam inside.   Having them skittering around on the wood floors downstairs would be nerve-wracking for me, and possibly dangerous for them.

Hmmmmm, Sick huh? Don't worry. I won't say anything to anyone in the office... Shhhhhh.
She is really cute! I don't blame you for premeditated infirmary.

Hee hee--both of you! I should do an audio clip of me "barking" along with the dogs!
