Another guest

Can you see the roadrunner on the brick pillar?

All summer long, he (or she?) will visit our backyard at about the same time -- around 1:00 pm.


We like roadrunners because they like rattlesnakes.

I'm guessing they like the snake eggs, or the very young?

Daisy and Co, these birds don't fly (like your emu) but they sure can run (like your emu.) We DO have great neighbors--animals AND humans, Isabelle! The roadrunners like young AND old snakes, Elizabeth. Maybe I'll do a post about it. Taryn, our view is pretty--although we have power towers in the distance. We planted trees strategically to "hide" the towers and we tell ourselves that they are our view insurance -- nothing can be built under them so that part of our view will never have houses or buildings.
