Watching the ball

These photos show Darby and Pumpkin watching a ball I was holding in my left hand and slowly moving back and forth over my head.

Darby's feet never move.

But, the Pumpkin-puppy just can't contain herself and tries to jump to get the ball.

Pumpkin sits back down in response to me saying "Sit."

But, she only manages to contain herself for a second or two before getting up again.
Alright, already, Mom!  Stop teasing us!

Pumpkin sits again, and Darby still has moved nothing but her head and tail.  I'm amazed how Darby can concentrate with every fiber of her body!  I threw the ball just after this shot and Darby ran after it while Pumpkin wandered off and ate some grass!

Aren't they pretty?

Don't you find that corgis are alike in so many ways yet so different in others. I just love 'em!

Hey Darby & Pumpkin!
Wow, way to focus! Great job. You gotta let the peeps know that you are on top of these game sessions so they don't lose interest! BOL You are both real lookers too..very cute.

Thank you for the fun comments, everyone. Lois, when Pumpkin came to us back in October, both of her beautiful Cardigan ears were standing straight up just as they are supposed to. But, at some point in the last few weeks something happened to her right ear. Her breeder has never had this happen to one of her dogs and is guessing, as am I, that it was damaged in some way -- probably rough-housing with Darby would be my guess. I can't feel any lumps, bumps, tears, or anything, just an incredibly, velvety soft, sweet, little ear that wants to flop. We love her anyway! That face! Makes me melt!
