Here is my friend Jane, just moments before turning in Rinah, the Canine Companions for Independence puppy she has raised for the last 16 months.
Here is Rinah, being walked away to the CCI kennels where on Monday she will begin the evaluation and training that will hopefully one day result in her working as a helping companion to a person with a disability.
Jane was rightfully proud and sad.
Her next CCI puppy --named Tribecca-- arrives in mid-June. We're looking forward to having puppies together!
(Darby is sleeping on the floor next to me as I type this.)
