Gettin' Ready

So, we're going to have a belated birthday party for Darby this weekend.

I decided to make home-made ice cream (the kind that got Glenn to give in and let me have the Pumpkin-girl.)

I decided to let Darby choose which kind of ice cream she wanted from this great book about making ice cream, The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz.

Of course, Pumpkin had to get into the act, too.

But, it was Darby who managed to open the book.

I was very happy to see the recipe she landed on:  Vanilla, since it's MY favorite and what I was planning on making, anyway!* 

So, One-Who-Feeds-Us, do I get to lick the spatula?

* I'm sure the reason the book flipped open where it did when she nudged it is because of how often I've flipped it open to that very page!
