Even with the days getting shorter, Darby is still waking up at 5:00 am and wanting out. And, the instant she steps outside the back door, even before she "does her business" after having been in her crate all night long, she stops at the potting bench and looks up, asking for the tennis ball she knows is sitting there.
So, there I stand in the early morning dark, early evening dark, late evening before-we-go-to-bed-dark, throwing a tennis ball for Darby. Don't get me wrong--I'm really glad she likes to retrieve--it is a good, easy way for her to get some exercise. But, I have to admit I sometimes wish I were inside looking out!

I know I'd wish the same thing at 5 in the morning!
Hi! Darby! It's me Buddy!
I sure wish we were neighbors. We could play. My person won't play ball at 5 am. I can hardly get her out of bed. You're a lucky puppy.
Luv,
Buddy
nice post mom! you SHOULD be glad she likes the ball that much. But I think you need a chuck-it and some more space to really see her run!
she's too cute and such a creature of habit! need to figure out a way to get her to sleep in later until it gets a bit brighter outside. well at least it goes to prove she has good eyesight if she can retrieve the tennis ball in the dark :)
betty
It's terrible this time of year when it gets dark so much earlier. Doesn't seem to be spoiling Darby's fun though! :)
