Sometimes Darby decides to mix things up and instead of chasing a ball she runs out and waits to catch the ball. I'm trying to teach her a command for it by saying "Go out for it!" every time she runs out and waits, but so far she doesn't really seem to have the command down.
Seems that last night she was in a catching mood rather than a chasing mood. With Glenn manning the ball and me the camera, I managed to get a few shots of the "Go out for it!" routine:
|
Dropping the ball in front of Glenn |
|
Heading out with one more look to make sure he hasn't thrown it yet. |
|
Turning around! |
|
Ready! Throw it! |
|
She caught it. I missed catching her catch it, but she caught it! She rarely misses.
And where, you ask, was the Pumpkin-girl?
Banished to the kitchen because she just couldn't play nice.

Hey Darby!
Wow, great game! You've turned ordinary catch into a two-fer! Catch and chase...great idea. Love your stretched out leap pix! Boy, Pumpkin, you're missing the fun.
Grr and Woof,

Pumpkin does have an impish look!
Great catching Darby...to bad the photographer missed the actual catch.
