Late summer evening skies

Leaves turning - already! One of several trees getting ready for fall.

I am always happy to see summer end.  I love the golden color the late afternoon/evening takes on this time of year.

We so rarely have "weather" in San Diego that our skies are rarely interesting. I love it when some clouds appear.

Lights in the tree -- with more added since the photo was taken -- mean a party!  Erika is coming home for a 3.5 day (counting every minute!) visit and we're having family and friends over for a party on Saturday.

Zoomies in the cool evening air. Notice how the irrigated avocado grove in the background is green, but the surrounding, natural hillsides are as brown as dust.  Now starts fire season.
